Liberty Park needs a community garden - Howard's neighborhood project
A community-led a community garden at Liberty Park that will serve 585 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $4,000.
It will serve about 585 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $4,000 goes:
• Materials: $2,950
• Permits and inspections: $165
• Safety equipment and signage: $250
• Tools hire and delivery: $635
