Let's build a youth football pitch together in Eugene

We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $1,750 for materials.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity community hall, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $800, and the remaining cost is $1,750. It will serve about 315 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,750 goes: • Materials: $960 • Permits and inspections: $280 • Safety equipment and signage: $250 • Tools hire and delivery: $260 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Adeline

Updates from Adeline

  1. We're at 16% thanks to 5 of you. the plan for permits and inspections is now scheduled. More news soon.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($155 in total) I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Thank you all. We're at 5% now ($79). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward safety equipment and signage.
