Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in Munich
Volunteers in Munich are raising $1,250 for a solar-powered water pump at the Union vacant lot.
🇩🇪 Bavaria, Germany1,715 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $660, and the remaining cost is $1,250.
It will serve about 417 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $430
• Permits and inspections: $270
• Tools hire and delivery: $550
Thank you so much.
