Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in Mumbai

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Unity bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 195 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $450 goes: • Permits and inspections: $35 • Materials: $400 • Safety equipment and signage: $15 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
