Moscow
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 264 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $400 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $135 • Permits and inspections: $80 • Safety equipment and signage: $185 I hope life is good to you.
