Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in Melbourne
A community-led a solar-powered water pump at the old Maple bus depot that will serve 209 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Maple bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $1,600.
It will serve about 209 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $195
• Permits and inspections: $150
• Materials: $1,255
