Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in Mekelle
Volunteers in Mekelle are raising $450 for a solar-powered water pump at the Pioneer vacant lot.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 520 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $450 goes:
• Materials: $320
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $70
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
