For five years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple community hall, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 565 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $350 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $75 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 • Materials: $230 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
