Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in Kasarani

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $150. It will serve about 581 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $150 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $35 • Permits and inspections: $75 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Akello
