Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in Hải Phòng
A community-led a solar-powered water pump at the Baobab vacant lot that will serve 389 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 389 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $300 goes:
• Materials: $185
• Permits and inspections: $30
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $55
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
Updates from Phượng
Good news. Because of your gifts ($293 in total) we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
