For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 446 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
