Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in Envigado
A community-led a solar-powered water pump at the Freedom community hall that will serve 429 neighbors.
🇨🇴 Envigado, Antioquia, Colombia659 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $800.
It will serve about 429 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $800 goes:
• Materials: $560
• Permits and inspections: $60
• Safety equipment and signage: $115
• Tools hire and delivery: $65
Thank you so much.
