Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in Campinas
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a solar-powered water pump - we need $900 for materials.
🇧🇷 Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil890 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Acacia bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $900.
It will serve about 138 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $900 goes:
• Materials: $610
• Permits and inspections: $90
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Tools hire and delivery: $155
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
