Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in Athens
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a solar-powered water pump - we need $650 for materials.
🇬🇷 Athens, Attica, Greece295 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Park, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $650.
It will serve about 88 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $650 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $110
• Materials: $450
• Safety equipment and signage: $90
Every share and every dollar helps.

Sending strength. I hope things turn around soon. After 8 years in engineering I know how hard it is to ask for anything. All the best.
