Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in Allentown
Volunteers in Allentown are raising $3,000 for a solar-powered water pump at Pioneer Primary School.
🇺🇸 Pennsylvania, United States643 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $3,000.
It will serve about 190 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,000 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $300
• Permits and inspections: $130
• Materials: $2,570
Every share and every dollar helps.

Keep going, Dustin. Looking forward to the next update. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Metz.
Take care, Dustin. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Wish I lived closer to Bengaluru so I could bring a meal. Blessings.
You're not alone. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My neighbor in Enugu donated after I showed her your page. Love from Enugu.
Sending strength, Dustin. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Blessings!
Hope it all works out, Dustin. Your post was clear and honest. After 28 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Allentown.
