Let's build a solar-powered water pump together in Abuja

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $140, and the remaining cost is $100. It will serve about 334 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $100 goes: • Permits and inspections: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $20 Thanks for reading all this. - Nkechi
