Let's build a skate park together in Parramatta

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,800. It will serve about 494 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $3,800 goes: • Materials: $2,700 • Permits and inspections: $185 • Safety equipment and signage: $300 • Tools hire and delivery: $615 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
