Oakland

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty community hall, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,750. It will serve about 509 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,750 goes: • Materials: $2,200 • Permits and inspections: $260 • Safety equipment and signage: $130 • Tools hire and delivery: $160 With deep gratitude, Esteban
