Let's build a skate park together in Newcastle
A community-led a skate park at the Unity community hall that will serve 296 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $3,700.
It will serve about 296 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,700 goes:
• Materials: $2,950
• Permits and inspections: $270
• Safety equipment and signage: $280
• Tools hire and delivery: $200
