Leeds

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Pioneer bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,950. It will serve about 394 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,950 goes: • Materials: $2,000 • Permits and inspections: $290 • Safety equipment and signage: $230 • Tools hire and delivery: $430 If you're reading this, thank you.
