Embakasi
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 261 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $400 goes: • Materials: $270 • Permits and inspections: $70 • Safety equipment and signage: $25 • Tools hire and delivery: $35 Thanks for being kind about this.

Thinking of you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Wish I lived closer to Mississauga so I could bring a meal.
