Let's build a skate park together in Dar es Salaam

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 183 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $400 goes: • Materials: $220 • Permits and inspections: $55 • Safety equipment and signage: $55 • Tools hire and delivery: $70 Thank you for reading my story.
