Dammam
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Unity bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,350. It will serve about 371 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,350 goes: • Materials: $1,550 • Permits and inspections: $220 • Safety equipment and signage: $270 • Tools hire and delivery: $310 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Leila

Thinking of you. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. After 6 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
