Biratnagar
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer community hall, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 590 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $350 goes: • Materials: $230 • Permits and inspections: $50 • Safety equipment and signage: $25 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 Thanks for being kind about this.

Updates from Roshan

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($261 in total) we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 57% now ($201). I'm honestly stunned. we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.

  3. Wanted to say thank you properly. 42% funded and I made the first payment toward safety equipment and signage.
