Let's build a skate park together in Allentown
Volunteers in Allentown are raising $1,150 for a skate park at the Lotus vacant lot.
🇺🇸 Pennsylvania, United States2,893 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $1,150.
It will serve about 516 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $430
• Tools hire and delivery: $500
• Permits and inspections: $220
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
Updates from Nova
Thank you all. We're at 78% now ($898). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward safety equipment and signage.
Small update. $346 so far, we've started the first stage.

Great idea, hope you get there. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
You're not alone, Nova. I hope things turn around soon. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Love from Mumbai.
