Let's build a skate park together in Adelaide
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a skate park - we need $1,950 for materials.
🇦🇺 South Australia, Australia1,952 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,950.
It will serve about 224 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,950 goes:
• Materials: $880
• Permits and inspections: $330
• Safety equipment and signage: $450
• Tools hire and delivery: $290

So sorry you're going through this, Shilpa. Shared this with my family. After 11 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Mississauga.
