A community-led a sensory garden for children with autism at Liberty Park that will serve 149 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $150, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 149 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $450 goes:
• Materials: $250
• Permits and inspections: $60
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $110
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
