For three years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $2,200. It will serve about 430 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,200 goes: • Materials: $1,450 • Permits and inspections: $330 • Safety equipment and signage: $170 • Tools hire and delivery: $250 Thanks for reading all this.
