Let's build a repair café workshop together in Warren
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a repair café workshop - we need $3,050 for materials.
🇺🇸 Warren, Michigan, United States3,032 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $3,050.
It will serve about 253 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,050 goes:
• Materials: $2,450
• Tools hire and delivery: $360
• Permits and inspections: $240

hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My neighbor in Arusha donated after I showed her your page. Love from Arusha!

Thinking of you, Declan. Looking forward to the next update.
Rooting for you, Declan. This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Gwangju.
