Let's build a repair café workshop together in Tlaquepaque
Volunteers in Tlaquepaque are raising $1,000 for a repair café workshop at the Cedar vacant lot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $1,000.
It will serve about 194 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Materials: $770
• Safety equipment and signage: $125
• Permits and inspections: $105
Thanks for reading all this.

Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. After 6 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Wishing you the best, Javier. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Love from Giza
