Let's build a repair café workshop together in Thane

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 473 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $550 goes: • Materials: $420 • Permits and inspections: $50 • Safety equipment and signage: $50 • Tools hire and delivery: $30 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
