For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 513 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $500 goes: • Permits and inspections: $100 • Tools hire and delivery: $175 • Safety equipment and signage: $225 Thanks for being kind about this. - Baptiste

Updates from Baptiste

  1. Quick update: $131 raised so far (26%). we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Quick update: $50 raised so far (10%). I made the first payment toward permits and inspections. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($60 in total) the plan for safety equipment and signage is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
