Let's build a repair café workshop together in Oakland
A community-led a repair café workshop at Baobab Park that will serve 122 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,650.
It will serve about 122 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,650 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $210
• Materials: $1,200
• Tools hire and delivery: $240
Glad we found this place.

Rooting for you, Ethan. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
