Lethbridge

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Park, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $600. It will serve about 555 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $600 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $140 • Tools hire and delivery: $240 • Permits and inspections: $220 Thanks for being kind about this. - Marcus

Quick update: $136 raised so far (23%). the plan for tools hire and delivery is now scheduled. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($75 in total) I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Thank you all. We're at 8% now ($45). I'm honestly stunned. we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. - Marcus
