Let's build a repair café workshop together in Kyiv
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a repair café workshop - we need $450 for materials.
🇺🇦 Ukraine1,424 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 317 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $450 goes:
• Materials: $300
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Tools hire and delivery: $50

Sending good thoughts, Alyona. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I have a 12 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
Rooting for you, Alyona. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Blessings
