Let's build a repair café workshop together in Kasarani

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Park, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $600. It will serve about 90 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $600 goes: • Materials: $420 • Permits and inspections: $20 • Safety equipment and signage: $75 • Tools hire and delivery: $85 Glad we found this place. - Kioko
