Duque de Caxias

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $1,200. It will serve about 452 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,200 goes: • Materials: $880 • Permits and inspections: $120 • Safety equipment and signage: $60 • Tools hire and delivery: $140 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly. - Fernando
