For three years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Park, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $100. It will serve about 387 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $100 goes: • Permits and inspections: $45 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $15 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Sandeep

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Sandeep

      • Sandeep S. AroraOwnerAnswerPhoto verified

Sure. The biggest one is permits and inspections, $45. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Good question.

Stay strong, Sandeep. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.
