Let's build a rainwater harvesting system together in Wudil
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $300 for materials.
🇳🇬 Nigeria1,599 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 547 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $300 goes:
• Materials: $175
• Permits and inspections: $25
• Safety equipment and signage: $60
• Tools hire and delivery: $40
