For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $250. It will serve about 243 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $250 goes: • Materials: $170 • Permits and inspections: $15 • Safety equipment and signage: $35 • Tools hire and delivery: $30 Thanks for being kind about this. - Sayali

Wishing you peace. I hope things turn around soon. After 28 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
