We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $350 for materials.

Rawalpindi
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 380 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $350 goes: • Materials: $230 • Permits and inspections: $20 • Safety equipment and signage: $55 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Updates from Tayyaba

  1. We're at 41% thanks to 4 of you. I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. More news soon.

  2. 13% there. I made the first payment toward materials. Thank you.
