Let's build a rainwater harvesting system together in Dwarka
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $500 for materials.
🇮🇳 Dwarka, Delhi, India726 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 244 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $500 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $45
• Materials: $410
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
Glad we found this place.
Updates from Parvathi
Wanted to say thank you properly. 21% funded and I made the first payment toward materials.
Thank you all. We're at 17% now ($85). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts.
Update from Dwarka: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 17% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
