Let's build a rainwater harvesting system together in Brooklyn
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $1,950 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $1,950.
It will serve about 194 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,950 goes:
• Materials: $1,200
• Permits and inspections: $165
• Safety equipment and signage: $330
• Tools hire and delivery: $255
