Let's build a rainwater harvesting system together in Berlin
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at Maple Park that will serve 422 neighbors.
🇩🇪 Berlin, Berlin, Germany1,427 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $550, and the remaining cost is $3,200.
It will serve about 422 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,200 goes:
• Materials: $2,650
• Permits and inspections: $260
• Safety equipment and signage: $290
I hope life is good to you.

I hope things turn around soon. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless.
