Let's build a playground together in Thane
A community-led a playground at Lotus Primary School that will serve 290 neighbors.
🇮🇳 Maharashtra, India1,063 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $250.
It will serve about 290 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $250 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Materials: $170
• Safety equipment and signage: $25
