Let's build a playground together in São Paulo

We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a playground - we need $500 for materials.

São Paulo

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $250, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 339 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $500 goes: • Materials: $270 • Permits and inspections: $35 • Safety equipment and signage: $115 • Tools hire and delivery: $80 Thank you for reading my story.
