Let's build a playground together in Ribeirão Preto

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $1,200. It will serve about 172 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,200 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $85 • Safety equipment and signage: $120 • Materials: $995 Thanks for being kind about this.
