Let's build a playground together in Ottawa

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,800. It will serve about 186 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,800 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $130 • Materials: $2,550 • Permits and inspections: $120 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
