Let's build a playground together in Nsukka
A community-led a playground at the Unity health centre yard that will serve 81 neighbors.
🇳🇬 Nsukka, Enugu, Nigeria1,133 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $150.
It will serve about 81 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $150 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $75
• Tools hire and delivery: $30
• Permits and inspections: $45
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

thanks for sharing this, Halima. Shared it with a few friends. Put this on a community board in Jakarta Barat this morning. All the best.
Hang in there, Halima. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
You're not alone, Halima. This could happen to any of us. Thinking of Nsukka!
Sending love, Halima. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Blessings!
Best of luck, Halima. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.
