Let's build a playground together in Niterói

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Cedar Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $280, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 527 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $350 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $110 • Tools hire and delivery: $140 • Permits and inspections: $100 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Wellington
